Today we deployed a new feature that you'll see displayed on the Current Portfolio tables for any clone. The new feature measures “Sentiment” amongst AlphaClone's fund universe for any holding. We define sentiment as the aggregate portfolio allocation to a given holding. For example, if 30 out of 300 funds own AAPL with a combined total market value in AAPL of $15 billion and the total market values for all holdings across all 300 funds is $2 trillion, AAPL's Sentiment score would be ($15/$2000) x 100,000 or 750.
We show Sentiment scores for the current and prior quarters so members can see how sentiment has changed. The numbers are colored green when sentiment is growing bullish, red when bearish and black when there is no change (see screenshot below). Sentiment scores are available for both single manager and fund groups clones. We hope you find the new measure useful.
